Dua 21 To seek relief from sorrow and illness, and to remove poverty, recite this prayer:
(Surah Al-Anbiya (21), Verses 83-84)
Annee massaniyad durru wa Anta arhamur raahimeen.
Indeed distress has befallen me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful.
(Surah Al-Anbiya (21), Verse 83)
Allah tested Prophet Ayyub (AS) severely. His wealth, health, and children were taken away one after another, yet he never panicked, nor lost hope, nor strayed from the path of guidance. His patience became so legendary that "Sabr-e-Ayyub" (Patience of Ayyub) became a timeless proverb. This prayer was always on his tongue.
Allah says in the Quran:
Fastajabnaa lahoo fakashaf naa maa bihee min durrinw wa aatainaahu ahlahoo wa mislahum ma'ahum rahmatam min 'indinaa wa zikraa lil'aabideen.
So We answered his prayer and removed his distress, and We gave him [back] his family along with others like them, as a mercy from Us and an admonition for the devout.
(Surah Al-Anbiya (21), Verse 84)
"So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him back his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers.
