Dua 22 To protect ourselves from the schemes, deceptions, attacks, tricks, and cunning tactics of enemies—their strategies and plots to trouble us—we should always recite this supplication:
(Surah Al-Kahf (18), Verse 10)
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةٗ وَهَيِّئۡ لَنَا مِنۡ أَمۡرِنَا رَشَدٗا
Rabbanaaa aatinaa mil ladunka rahmatanw wa haiyi’ lanaa min amrinaa rashadaa.
Our Lord! Grant us mercy from Yourself and guide us rightly through our ordeal.
(Surah Al-Kahf (18), Verse 10)
This supplication was made by the "Ashab al-Kahf" (People of the Cave). When they heard the sound of the tyrannical king’s horsemen approaching, they were hiding inside a mountain cave.
The king wanted to kill them because they had refused to worship idols. These six individuals are known as "Ashab al-Kahf" (The Peoples of the Cave). They worshipped only Allah (God). When they learned that the oppressive king intended to execute them, they secretly left the city and took refuge in a cave in the mountains. When the king’s soldiers chased them, they recited the above supplication.
We too should recite this dua (supplication) to seek protection from the plots of our enemies.
